Venezuela is known for its scenic beauty and biodiversity. It hosts a huge number of native species of animals, many of which live in the beautiful Andes Mountains and Amazon basin rain forest. The native tongue is Spanish.
Are you interested in hosting an au pair from Venezuela who can teach your children this useful language and share the culture and heritage with them? We have qualified applicants ready to join your family from this South American country.
The benefits of finding an au pair from Venezuela to live with you in the United States include:
- Teaching your children Spanish: This has become in-demand knowledge in today’s modern world.
- Having someone to practice speaking Spanish with: Learning from a book or at school isn’t the same as holding everyday conversations in a second language.
- Gaining a global awareness: Your children will learn about what it’s like to live in a foreign country and draw parallels between our country and Venezuela.
Why Find an Au Pair From Venezuela?
Speaking Spanish has become a valuable skill. Many people across the United States find it useful to be conversant in this language, and the best way to sharpen your kids’ ability to speak any new language is to give them a fellow conversationalist.
South American culture has a rich history and is quite different from the United States, yet we also share many similarities with the Venezuelan people. Hosting someone from this country will help your kids to learn that while people may speak different languages, we are all more alike than we are different.
They will also enjoy getting to know customs, games and other things your au pair teaches about her own background. You, too, will find it eye-opening to hear about what a typical day is like in a Venezuelan household. This cultural exchange benefits all sides. Many American schools teach relatively little to students about South America, so it’s another reason why bringing an au pair from Venezuela into your home can be a valuable experience for enriching your kids’ knowledge base.
Getting to Know Your Au Pair From Venezuela
The Venezuelan culture is what one may think as a typical Southern American culture. Venezuelans are very flexible on the concept of punctuality and, for example, it is not expected or acceptable to show up on time to a dinner invitation. When an on-the-dot arrival is expected, Venezuelans use the expression hora británica (“British time”).
Venezuelan couples have on average 2 to 3 children. Family is at the center of a Venezuelan’s life. The concept of family goes beyond the nuclear family and extends to relatives (grandparents, uncles and aunts, cousins). You can expect your au pair to look forward to bonding with your family and being a part of it. It is very common to work one or two jobs and study at the same time. For financial reasons, Venezuelans usually continue to live at home through their education, and sometimes after completing their education too.
More often than not, relatives live very close, sometimes on the same block. It is likely that your Venezuelan au pair will have gained a lot of child care experience through caring for young relatives (nieces and nephews, cousins) in the family.
The minimum driving age in Venezuela is 18 years old. Driving in Venezuela may be a bit chaotic and rules and signs are not always respected. Your Venezuelan au pair may find it easier to adapt to driving in the United States. We recommend that you discuss your driving needs with your au pair during the interviewing process.
Basic English is taught grade 1 through 9, and is compulsory in grade 9 to 11 for students who choose the path of Humanities (as opposed to Sciences). In post-secondary education, English is usually taught mainly to understand texts. Your Venezuelan au pair is likely to understand English better when communicated in writing rather than orally. It can be a good idea to write down your au pair’s tasks and schedule, especially in the early stages!
Host an Au Pair From Venezuela
Having an au pair from Venezuela can help your kids learn about other cultures. It’s an experience they will treasure for their whole lives and one that will benefit the entire family. The world suddenly becomes a smaller place when your kids meet someone from another country. They will love hearing about things that are different in Venezuela and comparing their lives to kids thousands of miles away.
We thoroughly check backgrounds on all our candidates, and we have been designated by the Department of State. You can begin the process of finding a Venezuelan au pair by filling out an application or contacting us for more information.

Being an au pair will allow me to experience the culture of another country and live unique experiences. My main motivation for being an au pair is to be able to master the English language and learn about new cultures because since I was little, I have traveled around the world. I feel that there is no better way to perfect English than being in an environment where it is the native language. I am confident that my combination of enthusiasm, reliability, and love for children makes me a great fit for your family. From the beginning I loved the idea of participating in this program, throughout my life I have been surrounded by children and responsibilities for them, doing what I like, sports and teaching them a new language, English, things that I like to do and I have combined with the experience of children and it is something that the program would allow me. I think it is a great opportunity to get to know a new culture in the best way, with a native family and children because I will learn from them while they learn from me.

I really enjoy being around children, take care of them, and share quality times with them so when I found out that as an Aupair I can do that and also learn a new culture and improve my English speaking skills, I thought it was perfect. Having spent a year and a half with a family and the fact that most of that time was during quarantine makes me improve creative my skills, because I had to do things new every time so that the children would not feel in a monotony. I consider that my strengths are patience, that I feel very comfortable interacting with children of all ages, I can easily adapt to any situation, the love with which I do things, the empathy and respect that I have for the children. I know I have the ability to make this year the best for me and for the host family, so I look forward to live this experience.

Since many years ago in high school I wanted to be part of an exchange program, at that time I was finishing a basic English course and the language began to interest me, I realized over the years until now that I love the aupair program because it fits my profile perfectly. Since I was very young I was interested in other babies, I wanted to take care of them because I saw them very fragile and tender, children have always been a source of inspiration which has allowed me to develop a sense of protection and love always wanting to take care of them and ensure their welfare. This charisma motivated me to become a member of a non-profit foundation whose purpose is to bring smiles and joy to low-income children through charitable activities. These experiences have allowed me to grow as a human being, with a certain nobility inspired by the innocence and tenderness of children as well as to develop a sense of responsibility, honesty and brotherhood.

My partners taught me the values and love towards oneself and others, and the principles of respect and honesty; They always wanted I could see the world from another angle, taking me and my sister to beneficiary organizations to help most needed people , especially children, I have had the opportunity to be with children of different ages and social situations, I learned to adapt to each situation when I took care of them. It taught me every day to be grateful for what I have. To be a participant of the program will not only help me to learn the language but also all the values and traditions of the Americans families and vice versa.
